Vaazha Meenukum Vilangu Meenukum

The lastest super duper hit song to storm TamilNadu is the item song from 'Gaana' Ulaganathan in the movie Chithiram Pesuthadi. Heard he is from the slums of Vyasarpadi. A very good break for him.

It is such a crass song that it is so nice ;-)..u will love the originality n the beat. But for malavika, I luv the song.

So me thought, let me do some social service by googling the lyrics of the song.
(hard to garner while hearing/seeing the song)

Here it goes..
--------------------------------------------

Vazhai Meenukum Vilangu meenukum kalyanam
antha thenakuni kootamellam oorvolam
antha nadu kadalil nadakuthaiya thirumanam
angu asara kodi aalukelam kummalam

Oorvalathil aadivarum nanduthane naatiyam
eyam mellam thallam mulangivarum vanjira meenu vaathiyam

Paarai meenu nadathi varar paathiyam
angu thayr pola poguthaiya oorbola kaatchiyam

Cooum aaru kadalil sayrum antha idathilluove-go
itha paathu vitta uluva meenu vatchathaiya vaikungo

Panchayathu thalaivarana sura meenu thaanungo
avan sonna padi iruvarukum nitchaithartham thaanungo
kalyanam nadanthu varuthu paarungo.

Maapillai sontha bhandham meesa kar erango
antha nethili podiya kaara podiya kalagalanu irukuthu.
Penuku sontha bandham meesa kaara kaduma.
Antha santhana meenu vavar meenu varavazhaipu tharuguthu
varavazhaipu tharuguthu.

Maapillai vazhai meenu pazhavar kaadu thaanungo
antha manna ponnu vilangu meenin meenjuru thaanungo.

Intha thirumanatha nadathivaikum thirukamalu annango.

Intha mana makalai vazhthukindra periya manusan yaarungo ...?
Thalaivaru thimeengalam thaanungo.

It's a crass song? - come on! you either didn't get the meaning of the word or the lyrics. To call this song crass is such a misnomer, the lyrics actually has a profound metaphorical expression of village life.
