Fire at Ranganathan street, T.Nagar was a tragedy waiting to happen...Just because the fire broke out in the wee hours of the morning, the death toll is very less..can't think of the numbers if it had happened later in the day. Rules simply doesn't exist in the jungle out there... the complexes are built wall to wall with no proper exit facilities..leave alone emergency exit.
What was the action taken ? the floor manager & supervisor have been arrested!!!!! I wonder why they didn't arrest the watchman?

Why watchman ? Authorities have to haul up the proprietors first for running such an establishment without rudimentary fire safety facilities ?

yesterday..there was a fire in spencers plaza too..
It was heartening today to read that High Court has refused bail to the proprietors. Hope they really do something to clean up Ranganathan Street and make it safer.
Yes..bail has been rejected & the owners have gone hiding..atleast they could have faced the law with some dignity..sigh!
