Sidney Sheldon - No More

Thrillers will never be the same again.

One of my Fav authors - Sidney Sheldon is no more. I was actually surprised to know that he was all of 89 years. Imagine you write the first novel - (Naked face) in 1970 and then keep on churning out novels that appeal to the GenX also.

The other side of me (autobiography) was written in 2005, last novel - Are You Afraid of the Dark? came in 2004.

My Fav: The other side of midnight, Rage of the Angels, If tomorrow comes and many more

Day Out @ Office

As a precursor to the annual celebrations at our office, we just now had a parade of our friends dressed up as chandramukhi meets imsai arasan 23 pulikesi... We are having a rocking time! Tomorrow, its cubicle theme dressing ..wonder how people will dress up!!

Kolam

Forget Gym, Exercise..try putting Kolam a.k.a Rangoli infront of your house everyday. I tried it out for Pongal. Man..what an effect, I had cramps for two full days after my maiden adventure. Infact I was doing only Jalra (sidekick) work to my friend who was the field expert.

Old traditions do have a purpose behind!

Slippery Ways

It happens only in India! Snaps taken near a transformer in Velachery.

A weird step taken to keep out public nuisance. But hey, it works - the area was clean.

A very DUSTy poem

Meers sent me this poem - seems this poem was scribbled on some rock in Australia or NZ.

Dust if you must but there's not much time
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb
Music to hear and books to read
Friends to cherish and life to lead

Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture or write a letter
Bake a cake or plant a seed
Ponder the difference between want and need

Dust if you must but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain
This day will not come around again

Dust if you must, but bear in mind
The time will come and it's not kind
And when you go, and go you must
You yourself will make more dust

Achachcho!..Googling reveals that this poem has already found its way to the web, but the author is an anon. Anyways..it is a good one to share.

While surfing, came across another quote

"A house becomes home, if you could scribble I Love you on the furniture".. cuta na ;-))

Martin Luther King n Google

You have to give it to Google ..Their logos will definitely make you smile.

Thanks to Gopi, I found this gem of a quote by Martin Luther King

I have a dream that one day little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Big Mittal & Big Money

(Me..back after a short commercial break..he..he.!)

Lakshmi Mittal is always in the news and more so for his money.

Mittal has 'donated' a small amt - just TWO MILLION POUNDS to the labour party commending Mr. Tony Blair's performance.

This has once again raised the debate on the ethical aspects of such dealings.

Not long ago, we had sting operations on our politicians by Tehelka. Bangaru Lakshman (BJP) said, he was accepting cash as donation for the party. Obviously it was a very weak excuse.

Jus wondering aloud.. how would you react if the Ambanis gave 2 crores as donation to a political party???
